Our Story
Conscious Climbing was born from a simple observation: McCall is surrounded by incredible granite, yet many people never experience it firsthand.
We started with a vision of making climbing more accessible, approachable, and integrated into the outdoor culture that already defines McCall.
By creating structured, guided experiences, we aim to introduce more people to climbing in a supportive, engaging, and meaningful way.
We believe that once people experience climbing, it has a way of sticking—with the same pull as chasing powder, running rivers, or exploring the backcountry.
-
Our Mission is to offer climbing opportunities that inspire a fun, inclusive environment where people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can strengthen themselves, build community, and deepen their appreciation for Idaho’s wild landscapes through mindful & responsible recreation.
-
Safety is non-negotiable.
Every program operates under AMGA-aligned standards, supported by staff trained in Wilderness First Aid, Wilderness First Response, and field-based risk management. We maintain a culture that prioritizes conservative decision-making when conditions are uncertain.Accessibility over exclusivity.
Climbing should be approachable for all—not just the experienced. Our programs are designed to support first-time participants while providing a clear pathway for continued progression.Community over transaction.
We are committed to building a connected climbing community in McCall—one where participants return, grow, and develop lasting confidence both on and off the wall.Stewardship alongside adventure.
We integrate Leave No Trace principles into every program, recognizing that responsible use of public lands is essential to preserving the climbing environments we all share.
